The current law does not dictate the physical being of the fish (jarred, smoked, canned) only the amount of fish. If you have more than that ...well, you know what they say-possession is 9/10's of the law.
As far as reading in between the lines "possession limit" (as listed above) defines possession as ownership of fish in the field, on the way to your destination and how you store it when you get there.
You, I, we, whoever can break it down to just ink on paper but it is what it is. You have more than your limit in your possession and you have more than your limit, period.
I'm not defending f&g or anyone else and I'm trying to see both sides of this but I just can't see the misinterpretation.
