Every Fish and Game biologtist that I have met has been great to talk with and seems to really have the public in mind.
A few cat fish in roberts will not influence the greater ecosystem. That is why they chose Roberts. It is a gravel pond with a put and take fishery. I believe most of those cats are caught out in quick order. I have caught one or two here and there but they are incidental to the rainbow hatchery pets and the perch. I don't know what is going on this winter but I doubt very much if it has anything to do with a few cat fish. I also believe that the cat fish were brought in to please those people who want alternate species to try for locally. Some people just get tired of the slimers and want something else. So like others have said, the fish and game is just trying to balance the needs and wants of everyone.
