While I do appreciate their tireless efforts and do understand the scope of their jobs . . .
I'm not sure what biologist with a degree and an understanding of invasive species decided catfish belong in S.E Idaho but I'd say he needs his head examined. We pay a heck of a lot of money to professionals for professional opinions and assessments. With your analogy, if you think you will need a doctor in the future you had better study medicine and start a practice and then if you think you might need a plumber you should . . .
Maybe you forgot their job is done as a public servant paid for with our tax dollars. Anyone that I employ is going to be open to my suggestions. Maybe you don't pay taxes or have never been a boss but in the real world employees answer to the people that pay the freight! [unimpressed] I work with a lot of biologists from different states and they will tell you they are all accountable for their decisions, mostly to the public.
