Line size when ice fishing.

I found that I get more bites on lighter lines. I like 4 lbs for everywhere but Jackson there I use 8. I have caught 8 to 12 lb fish through the ice on 4lb, it just takes a little longer to get them in but my friend that I fish with can't give up the heavy line gets no bites.
