I've fished in the Park Rapids/Nevis, MN area for many of the past, nearly 50 years... but it's now been three or four years since our last trip. Since then, some of our favorite resorts have either closed or gone private. [frown] So I thought I might check HERE to see what the "Minnesota Forum-Guys" think...
My favorite targeted-species is Large Mouth Bass. On the other hand, I sure don't mind when a northern attacks my lure instead!!! [

I've enjoyed success on Little Mantrap, Big Mantrap, and the Crow Wing chain over the years... but I believe the last resort (Pine Bay) on Spider Lake (north of Nevis) has closed.
I have my own small boat, so although I prefer to stay at the chosen lake/resort, it IS feasible to try lakes that have public access. So my questions are:
1) If you were vacationing in the PR/Nevis area in early SEPTEMBER, what lake would be your first/top pick for LMB (size AND quantity)? Bonus points for lakes that would ALSO have decent pike/muskie/SMB!!
2) Does anyone know if there are now any resorts left on Spider Lake?
3) "Back in the day", Skunk Lake was a noted LMB lake, do you know if it is STILL a top LMB producer? (Public access via Niawa Star "Resort".)
Thanks in advance!
