lots of shad lake mead

i recently just started fishing lake mead and between govt.wash and rocky point i see so many shad hitting the top of the water and just schooling. now are there always this many shad year round or is it just that time of the year. in the last month of fishing here i've been able to hook or net shad every time im out. today i caught 6 stripers and 1, 2lb bass, all the striper were bigger than the bass. there was a really good boil going on around the rocky point lookout area around sunrise for a good 3 hours off and on..

i cant wait to get the boat fixed, im tired of hiking up and down these dam mountains to get to shore.
