I have been out there about 4 times since the stocking started and have had 10 fish+ days every time I go. I miss more than half the fish that bite also.. About 90% of the trout I have been catching have all been 5-15 ft from shore. I was actually there this last friday for about 3 hours and had 3 fish in my first 6 casts. Of course I am fly fishing, so my tactics seem are a little differtent then the people using spinning tackle, but almost everytime I go I seem to zone in on em about 10-15 feet from shore with a 9 ft leader.
I did almost leave early do to the crowds. The weather has been way to nice. I cannot wait til its like 30 degrees in the morning and people start staying at home. Got into it with some kids this last trip also. I lost my fly and i walked 5 feet to my left to tie on a new fly at my tackle box, turn around and these 2 kids busted out folding chairs and jacked my spot that I had been fishing for almost an hour and half. I was not too happy about that..

I feel you man, FLSP has been bad to me this year. I made plenty of trips out there since the t stock and only caught 2 fish one being a cat both on nightcrawlers. Every time I went I gave it every thing I had different colors powerbait, trout lures, flies, lucky panther marten and nothing except fresh crawlers worked. The fish are under alot of pressure and are very weary to common tactics. They are out deep and are on the bottom although I did see a school swim by fairly close to shore. Early morning you can see them jumping up on the surface as soon as people start showing up they head out deep and hold to the bottom until its quiet again. Think about it during normal hours its shoulder to shoulder and everyone has two poles in the water including the children and family dog. People are there open till close throwing everything they can possibly find. Everytime I see people taking over the limit, riging 2+ hooks, chuming, littering, playing loud music and you name it there trying it. Your best bet is wait for the next stock head out there before the sun comes up rig up with nightcrawlers one on the bottom one with a bobber.[/quote]
