Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody has tried fishing for steelhead with a regular rod and reel set up? I just have like a 7 foot ugly stick with a nice shimano open face reel. I really want to try to go steelhead fishing but the wife says I can't buy a new steelhead rod and reel. 
I have caught a 33 inch, 23 pound brown trout on it before, so I was thinking why couldn't I catch a steelhead on it?
Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!
