Floyd Lamb State park report 10/6
#21
not pretending to know any thing here, I cant address a condition from thousands of miles away either.

In michigan a size limit was placed across the state for catch and keep. It was 12 inches and up for many years and for long as I could remember, most every bass caught here was 11 and 3/4 inch..

the limit was changed about 20 years ago here from 12 to 14 inches. now I see more bass of bigger quality, mostly because most people dont want big muddy bass for table fare. At 14 inches they do tend to put on the feed bag one might say.. lol

any way, it was a problem for the first couple years for anglers who seeked bass for dinner because it took a couple years for the numers bass shy of 12 inches to reach the desired 14 inches..

Over all it has helped the michigan bass fishing, now there are more bass reaching breeding age and fewer bass being taken for table fare..

The was just to let you know how michigan handled the problem of fewer bass to feed on stunted gills...
