A Twin Falls angler caught a walleye from Oakley Reservoir last week that broke the Idaho state record by 6 ounces.
Mike Chupa of Twin Falls landed a 17-pound, 12-ounce walleye that weighed 6 ounces more than the previous record. Chupa caught the fish at 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 10. The fish was 33 inches long and had a 21-inch girth.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game announced the record Thursday.
