Standing is counterproductive to the essence of hands free positioning while fishing from your pontoon boat. When standing you can not use your fins to manouevre the boat.
The use of two anchors would certainly aid in stand up fishing but what a pain to deploy and then lift up. You would end up staying in one place far too much. Good for slow chironomid fishing if there are fish in the area you're anchored in.
Standing is great for sightfishing but the elevated seating position in the pontoon and the use of fins is about as good as you'll get if you want some degree of sight fishing and mobility.
Sad to say but stand up fishing is best done in a bass boat with bow mounted, foot controlled electric power.
Anyone ever toyed with trying to set that up on their pontoon?
God Bless,
Don
