You can put in a pontoon boat at the old dam site and float to the hog hollow bridge. There are multiple access points from Newdale up to felt all of them are either on private property or require an extremely steep hike into the the canyon on a crappy trail. On this particular hike we accessed the river at the Felt power plant. This involves a half mile hike straight down on the gated power company road and then we went cross river and cross country to several holes along the river.
This is really beautiful country, but I am not exaggerating when I say it can kill you if you aren't careful. Getting from place to place is tricky, rugged, and steep.
If you fish this section just be extremely careful and make sure to release all the cutthroats.
