Wet fly with water bobber?
#27
This post is up again? LOL

I am not saying there is anything wrong with a fly and bubble. Just a choice of lure to me. How it is presented it could be as mentioned, money or lack of, but we have already discussed that fly fishing gear need not be an arm and a leg.

Okay, you already have the gear....go for it.

But in some cases, the individual has both gear and prefers the bubble/spinning over the ......fairy wand or whatever they call it.
The truth of the matter is, they don't take the time to LEARN how to fly fish. Anyone can pick up a spinning outfit and cast beautifully.
Not the case with fly gear. People don't catch on immediately, don't catch fish, or whatever. Think it sucks or it doesn't work and end up using the spinning gear instead.

I can't count how many times I have been somewhere with my FF gear amongst spin fishers. They see me land one or two and they run back to their car and dig out their fly gear. Then the leader and line are terrible.
They swat the water a few times, then go back to the spinning.
