I almost exclusively fish streams/rivers for trout with spinning gear.
Ultralight (2 lb line): 5'6" Fenwick HMG GFS 55 or 7' G Loomis SR 841-2 depending on size of stream and amount of brush. I've tried Bass Pro's 8'6" ML86ULS-2 Micro-Lite but found it too whippy for hardware. It may be good for bait.
Light (4 lb line): The previously mentioned 7" G Loomis SR 841-2 or 6'6" Fenwick HMG GFS 64. Use the Fenwick on big rivers with good sized fish. Backup: Old, old, 6'6" Shakespere Professional Wonderod
Heavy -- for me (big canyon rivers with big fish) (8 lb line): 7' Fenwick HMG GPLS 70. Backup: 6'6" Ugly Stick SPL 1100.
