I had no idea you can troll with a fly rod...
I have a cheap fly combo and tons of flies. I have borrowed a small boat and I have been successful trolling rapalas at Blacktail and also have trolled worms in Gem Lake. I usually put 3 split shots on the worms and get really good results on Gem Lake. When the wife and I anchor up, I use a hopper and copper john combo on my fly rod with no luck so I always end up going back to reliable worms. I am really convinced my fly rod presentation is bad, the hole that I anchor up at in at gem lake is about 5-8 feet deep.
I wonder if I am not sinking my flies deep enough....
