Hit up Floyd Lamb today to try out some new tackle. Bought a finesse/drop shot rod paired up with a team Daiwa pro spinning reel with 6 lb fluoro. Ive never really used finesse techniques at Floyd lamb and decided to give shaky head jigs a try. I was not disappointed =)...
Arrived at the pond at 6:45am, rigged up with a Strike king shaky head football jig rigged with a Zoom 5" pumpkinseed shaky head worm.. was fishing by 7:00am. First hour of fishing was great! Landed 5 small bass and lost 2. One felt really decent but he spit the hook, the other was small and lost him to a tree he decided to swim into =(. The fishing really died down as the temp started warming up though..From 8am to 9 am was really really slow. Only managed to land one but he sure was a nice one! 2.5 -3 lbs I would say. Put up a good fight!
Overall a decent morning of fishing [fishin]
Was home by 9:30.
