Twin Falls area
#13
Derkies lake is east of twin falls about 5 miles? at a place called shoshone falls.
This lake is planted by the F&G and it has a lot of trout and a few bass. I fished it earlier and got a lot of trout and even a yellow one.
Another option is Milner dam.
I have made this trip several times this year and I like it a lot. You see what the weather is doing first. If you have no wind or wind from the east or south east you will be fine. Wind from the west is a NO GO!
You will need help to do this. Put in at the boat launch in Burley. The take out spot will be at a bar and restruant down stream called River dock or maybe it is dry dock.
It is a BASS club boat dock behind the bar open to the public. You get in at burley and you float about 2.5 miles to the take out. You can go as slow or as fast as you want. If you stay in the main stream you will float 3 MPH or a little less. If you get off to the sides you can slow down and fish as hard as you want. You will need someone to take your car or truck to the take out place when you get there.
The fishing there is for Bass, and catfish. I like to catch carp there too. I use worms and cut bait. If you fish with worms you will catch Utah Chubs. Keep a couple and use them for cut bait for the cats. Float close to the North shore and work the reeds and trees for bass. Cats will be where you find them. Good luck Ron
