That is just down-stream from Hagerman on the Snake River. The dam is Lower Salmon Falls. It is real easy to get to and there are steps down to the river.
The point being fished in the video is across the river, which I think is a little better fishing but you need to drive down river to Bliss, cross the river then back up 7 or 8 miles of bad dirt road to get there, then hike over rocks under the dam (kinda spooky).
I fished from the parking lot side for years before I started crossing the river and caught many Sturgeon, biggest was about 7'.
The folks at Sports Warehouse in Twin falls (Are they still open) will have rods, reels and line to handle the job. I use 50 lb test mono.
There are usally people fishing at the base of the dam and they can help you with rigging and baiting. There is a learning curve, but once you get them figured it is the biggest fish you can catch in Idaho.
Sturgeon are also found in the Snake from up as far as below American Falls Res. all the way to the Columbia and out to the ocean.
