Was borned and raise-ed in upstate NY, last house on a dead end dirt road near the Mohawk river. Then 4 years on the coast of NC where I fell in love with Clamming, Crabs, Flounder gigging and pier fishing in the ocean. Back to NY for a career in ish & wild life management and guiding the Adirondack Mts, fishing Trout, Salmon, Pike, and bass as well as hunting, Whitewater rafting and hiking.
Moved to FL for a year for the ocean, but the people had come and I wanted fewer of them around.
Off to Grangeville, guiding on the Snake & Salmon, rafts and fishing. But the winters were hard to make a living, in Grangeville.
Moved to Salt Lake 20 years ago and have been here since. I fish for everything in every way. From 7" brookies on a 3wt in the Uinta's to 9' sturgeon with a 13' surf rod hucking 8 & bait in Hagerman.
Still vacation in Florida in the spring and NY in the fall, just got back from NY.
Have year round licences in UT, ID, WY, FL, and NY, costs about $500 a year in licences to feed my addiction, I have 7 boats, a 19' I/O, a 12' john, a drift, a toon, a tube and 3 kayaks (including wife's and son's), oh yeah and a raft, that makes 9 total and I'm looking for a 14' or 16' aluminum with a tiller for fast trips when I have no help loading the 19'. I have a fishing reel drag scream as my ring tone on my cell phone. There are tackle boxes of unopened lures in my shed I have not seen in years.
