I had never thought about that kodiak. that dead water would slow them when the natural current use to flush them out in a way. and on the way in the genetics only allow them to live so long in the fresh water thats why our fish are geneticly the strongest fish in the world they come further and higher elevation than any others. thats why they could probly take eggs from the sawtooth hatchery and rear them at the clearwater onces that didnt get enough but they couldnt do the oposite.
