When my "Discover Idaho" class was at Redfish observing the release of adult sockeyes a few years ago, the Shoshone tribe's fishery biologist told us that one of the problems is that, due to the dams slowing migration (both up and down), the biological clock simply runs out. I had never thought about that before. Sure makes sense, especially with the migration to the ocean, and all that "dead" water. Mike
