Nothing wrong with getting a free rod! I used to have a Diawa low profile casting reel but I never liked it. It never seemed to work quite right and I had horrible issues with backlash that I couldn't seem to keep under control no matter how I set it. The only casteing reel I have now is an Abu Garcia Ammba
eur that works well. I like the full size as it holds 300 yards of 20 pound braided line as opposed the the 120 or so the Diawa held. I hope you have good luck with yours.[
