You talking siliconing the transducer right to the bottom of you tube?

What is wrong with a side mount? By mounting it on the side you can put it 1/2" higher than the bottom of your tube (on flat level ground) and it will be perfect in the water, plus less chance to bump it.
They don't have to be below the boat.
