<br /> Shane and I hit the river just a little after day light this morning, we started it off going towards grass for a topwater bite... never got anything going, only caught 1 small fish. So we hit some shallow main river ledges. And the fish were schooling up on the shad like crazy... we caught a few on swimbaits and a few on t-rigged worms. About 3 fish out of the 6 we landed on that one ledge went close to about 3lbs. We hit some bluff walls after they slowed down on the ledge. One of the first casts Shane sticks a solid 5-6lb bass off a jig in some brush, 
ly it shook off right at the boat. Just a minute later I hook up with a good 4 pounder off a worm. Then shane catches a tiny spot and a little smallmouth, then I stick another 2.5lb largemouth. <br /> We make our way into a small cove... shane flips into another brushpile and sticks one more fish good for 3 pounds.<br /> After that we only caught 2 more bass that wouldve kept. Best 5 went around 16lbs today but wouldve been better if the fish Shane wouldve gotten the big fish into the boat. Oh well he&#39;ll get it next time.
