Now, what Orvis Rod and Reel did you get.[/quote]
The rod is a 8'6" 4wt 2pc Orvis Power Matrix and the reel is a Battenkill BBS II, and it's loaded with a WF 4wt Wonderline. Not top of the line, but good middle of the range stuff, and I got it all for a great price.
4wt is a little light for lake fishing, but I expect to spend more time fishing small streams and spring creeks. I may get something heavier for lakes, but first I have to re-learn flycasting! Fortunately, Orvis SF store is doing a free casting clinic this Saturday. I'll be there. I have forgotten SO much.
I don't think I will be tying initially, but maybe later. I enjoyed it a lot when I was tying a long time back.
