some ID tips
#5
Are you new to Boise or to Idaho? Idaho has many blue ribbon trout streams. The middle fork of the Boise is fairly close to you. Silver creek is much further, but worth the trip. There are good catfish spots near Celebration park, and Melba. Sturgeon @ CJ Strike and Swan Falls. Extremely close are the park center, and veterans memorial ponds. They are fun after work spots. I like to swing up by Barber park (10 min drive from BSU) in between classes.

I agree that Turners is a nice tackle shop. I have also heard a lot about Idaho Angler, but I stick with Cabela's and Sportsman's.

There are also a fly fishing and fly tying classes offered at BSU ( I finally got into the tying class next semester).

Good luck!
