The Provo up along Mirror Lake Highway has really come down quickly over the last 2 weeks. Hit it half way between the Lower Provo campground and the turn off for Soapstone. Been up biking several times but didn't bother to fish it until today. I noticed quite a few hoppers during my biking today and couldn't resisit giving it a quick try afterward. Caught dozens in 90 minutes on the water with a size 10 rainy's foam hopper. If a hole or run looked fishing I usually got a strike. Most where only 8-10 inches but about a dozen where at least a foot long. Caught a couple rainbows and cutts each. The rest were all brookies. Biggest was about 15 inches so nothing very big but the constant topwater action was a blast. Most of the tiny brookies would take a look and not strike and those that did only a couple got hooked. Fish where jumping out of the water to strike at times. No storms threatening, not too hot and nobody in sight. Buying gas in park city I overheard 2 guides talking. One said he counted 27 cars parked at one place on the Provo[crazy]. I didn't think fishing was supposed to be a contact sport.
