New Carp Solution???

Quote:Of course the tree huggers will be totally against it.

Ha ha ha! Tree huggers? I say get rid of the carp! Use the @#$!*& virus!!! I'm a tree hugger! Just not the extremist tree hugger that thinks colored toilet paper is dangerous for environment.[laugh]

The overall "plan" to get rid of carp in Utah Lake is so darned stupid, its total exploitation of tax payer money plain and simple. Governments always think they can spend your money on whatever they want. They will be trying to "get rid of carp" for God knows how long.

If we are to safeguard the environment it should be the citizens held accountable and the government but lets not lend taxes to some private company and net these fish for the next thousand years!!!! Silly idea! Argh![frown]

The idea is they are afraid of killing other fish species in the lake cause too many carp dead means smelly odors
and a threat to other fish. But there is no threat to other fish at Lake Mohave.

Look at Lake Mohave in Arizona here is what Andy Clark, fisheries program manager for the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Kingman Arizona office. Here is what he says.

Quote:This is not a threat to public health, and it is not affecting other wildlife,” said Andy Clark, fisheries program manager for the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Kingman office. “However, people should still avoid handling the dead fish along the shoreline and, until this die-off ends, we’d suggest anglers avoid taking carp and focus on the other species the lake has to offer.”

He added that this is not a water quality issue, which would have impacted all species of fish in the lake.

So you can eat fish from Lake Mohave.
