I was catching mine in about 12 ft (at least thats what the book told me my hot n tot was diving to). I tried deeper all the way to the bottom and shallow up to 5 ft, but all my fish came out of 12. I was marking ALOT of junk(moss and floating stuff) in about 14ft and the fish seemed to be above it.
