jetsled: I wouldn't be overly concerned. I've not personally had a problem at Strike but I troll for rainbows mainly in the greater pool around the dam area and occasionally up the Bruneau arm. There was a bad protrusion directly off the AF ramp at one time that caused some damage to props but they've changed the route in and out and I haven't heard of any problems lately.
It does vary greatly as you would expect with a dammed up river so I stay mainly in the river channel when at speed.
I'm more worried about the South Fork arm of Arrowrock Reservoir than any other area in this part of the state. It has a couple of areas I only idle through... One being just short of the "Y" where the south fork and middle fork meet.
