NICE!!! Now reading more, Dave states that with a raised seat the oars do not work, or it is much harder to row...is this true?
[#0000ff]Yes, it was "ok" with the original seat. Your hands would slide along your thighs to have enough clearance to get the oar tips out of the water. With the new thicker seat, it is just about impossibe to row. That is the next mod I need to work on.
[/#0000ff]And as for the lean bar...why can't you adjust around it?
[#0000ff]It may be ok, but I am still waiting on the stripping basket. I think they forgot again, so I guess I will have to call them, again.[/#0000ff]
I like that rod holder between the legs. That would be nice while rowing.
[#0000ff]It works great for rowing and trolling. Very easy to set the hook.[/#0000ff]
We bought the rod holders for the lean bar. Just got to break down and put them on. If it keeps raining like it has, we will be able to check them out on the street![shocked]
[#0000ff]I am about sick of this rain.[/#0000ff]
Very nice mods. I have the Maxxum 40 motor and as you say, the handle hits in the back of my head (no raised seat) but the handle moves up and down, so I lift it up. Not crazy about it and I am going to mod the motor like my old one. With the reo-stat it should be easier.
[#0000ff]I plan on moving the rear deck back about 6"- 9" so the motor handle will clear and also give me some more storage. I also noticed on high with the trolling motor, that the rear deck wanted to slip over the frame. I will address this also when I move the deck back.[/#0000ff]
How and where did you mount your sonar monitor? I see it but can't make out where it is sitting.
[#0000ff]I mounted my sonar monitor to the rear deck. I used a piece of 1.5" aluminum flat bar and bolted that at a 45 degree angle to the rear deck vertical lip. I also bolted the flat bar to my dry box to help make everything a little more solid. I then bolted a RAM mount onto this flat bar. It is located behind the right zippered storage bag. This was an empty space other than the drink holder. It is out of the way of the oars, but very easy to see. When I reach out with my right hand, the sonar is right there within easy reach so I can flip through different screens or mark fish. I can take another picture if you want.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Something else I have noticed is the front inside tie down straps are starting to frey a bit. It is because of the where the frame stops and the foot rests start. The transition from one size of tubing to a smaller size makes an edge/lip that is prematurlly wearing on the straps. If Dave would have the frame made 3/4" longer where the foot rests go into the frame, the problem would be solved.[/#0000ff]
