Another great day at Willard ... 6-12-09
#23
Couple of things (In My Humble Opinion):

[ul][li]-- Church brand planer boards are by far the best.[/li][li]-- The big ones at Cabela's are too big and their small ones are too little. I get the mid-range ones on-line direct from Church. PM me if you would like the exact modle number.[/li][li]-- Bottom bouncing requires strict attention to where your lead bouncer and harness is in relation to the bottom. I can't imagine anyone truly bottom bounsing with a planer board. Again ... IMHO ... So, I agree with the "old guy" at Smith and Edwards. The idea is to hold your pole in your hand and feel the "tick-tick" of the bounser slightly "bounsing" over the bottom. I don't see how one could accomplish that finess with a bounser way out there on a planer. You have to continually be raising and lowering the rod to keep the "tick-tick" going.[/li][li]-- If your were to actually run a bounser out on a planer, it would have to be a pretty big planer to keep from the heavy bounser pulling it under.[/li][/ul]
