so i headed up to the South Fork yesterday got there at about 4:15pm it never rained on me and the sun and clouds battled it out for the entire evening it would be about a half hour of sunlight than a half hour of clouds but there was very little wind. to answer some of you guys question about that stretch of river yes there is still a healthy cutthroat population its just during the spring the cutthroat are running up side channels and creeks to spawn so you don't see as many of them in the main river. i fished a lot of the river and side channel and i did very well nymphing with a size 4 brown rubber leg i caught 4 cutthroat and hooked about three more nymphing i also caught 2 whitefish on the rubber leg. i also hooked 2 fish stripping a streamer they were better fish but i lost both of them after brief battles. i finally left the river at 8:00 pm and enjoyed a nice ride home in the sun.
p.s. all the fish in the pictures were returned safely and were only out of the water long enough to get a picture[sly]
