Hi Ms Kitty and welcome to our site. These days one encounters an array of bugs [not used for fly fishing] that can make one lose sleep. It could be a virus, malware or spyware. Try running any of these at your home page to see if you can correct the problem. As far as picking up a bug at the BFT is rather doubtful. I have been a member on this site for six years and have never encountered a problem. I run my Malwarebytes [free download] Superantispyware and McAfee at least once a week to keep my system clean.
