The smallmouth bass in East Canyon are susceptible to any soft plastic that has similar colors to the crawfish in the lake. Orange or red 2-3 inch work really well. I was up there last Friday evening and the fishing was great. I would like to remind everyone that the smallmouth bass were illegally introduced along with the black crappie. These types of illegal fish movements really create havoc for the biologist who are attempting to manage these fisheries. The DWR is attempting to let folks know by these liberal limits on the waters that these "bucketed" fish show up in that they will not be managed. There are also disease and invasive species issues that we need to be concerned with as well. Please help the DWR out if you see anyone moving live fish from a water and call the poaching hotline or the police. We really have a lot to lose by these activities.
