the only way I know of to fully clean bone is to use ant hills.
find a helthy ant hill and set your item wehtey it be a deer scull or a turtle shell ocer top the hill, (it dose not take much of a hill to take care of an item.)
this works wonders on turtle shells. then I polish them and put a coat of polyurithene on. I have done this with all sorts of small items up to the size of deer skelitons with good results,
the time it takes is not as long as one might think. a deboned deer skeliton about a week and a half on top of a 1 foot ant hill.
a 2-3 inch ant hill in the back yard will take care of a big turtle shell in a couple weeks. picked clean.
