ruber smell on bait
#2
Although the cheaper plastics usually smell more like rubber than anything, there is a better solution than WD-40. WD-40 may not be legal in some areas so user discretion is advised.

Pro Cure has some better scents that you can soak your plastics in or even inject them with it. It is more ecology friendly and won't be a deterrent to hide from the local authorities.

You can also invest a few more pennies and buy pre scented plastics at Wallys World, BPS or Cabelas.

If you still prefer the cheaper plastics, then you can use your own, home remedy. Soaking in Garlic or Anise oil is usually good enough to get rid of some of the smell a little longer than just soaking them in the water.

You cannot get a perfect impregnation of the scents since the scented plastics are manufactured that way.[cool]
