Shark Jaws....

As some of you know, me and my husband do alot of surf fishing. We have a question and any input would be appreciated. Last time we went surf fishing we caught a couple of sharks. My husband decided he wanted to dry the jaws of the fish. So we went way out by our shed and he hung them and let the flies, etc.. do their job.. Well it's been a couple weeks and all that is left is the hide and it's really hard getting it all off. Is there anyone out there that has done this or knows anything about it? Maybe an easier way to get the hide off?
