Excellent report and great pictures. I have also had great days of bass fishing along that stretch of water. There is some good fishing above Massacre Rocks. My dad and I caught some real nice bass on fly rods a few years ago so don't think you can't fly fish for them. There are more bass between Walcott and American Falls than one would imagine.
