A Reel with a Strike Alarm!!
#7
thies sounds like a must have for pike anglers and carp tournymen. I have been using the cow bell method on the carp and prey I get back to the rod before the carp maks his run with the line. with this reel a man could have the best of both reals with out the wories of loosing a rod to a giant carp.

a free spinning spool with out the handle engaged is just the ticket for mounting the rod in a holder and not have to worie about the handle hitting something or jumping up and down. it sonds like it would not take much to pull the line out with the bail closed.

certanly sounds like a product I would like to test. ofcource it would have to be a minimum of a 14 pound class reel or bigger to realy reep the benifits of using these features for larger fish.

the hardest thing I find when using an open face reel for pike carp and cats is I cant leave the bail open so to eliminate the fish fish from feeling the rod when they hit the line and try to run.
