New boat sticker required

If its under 10 feet no you don't need a sticker If its over yes you need a sticker
Should add that, as I understand it, if you put a trolling motor on it, it has to have a sticker.

Stupid idea flown in under the radar with no public input and no hearings. The more intelligent response would have been to put washing stations at all of the Port of Entries and require boats coming in from out of state to stop for a wash down. But that would have cost less and made too much sense.

As an aside, I've been talking to salesmen at a few sporting goods stores - 9-foot and shorter pontoons are flying out the door as fast as they get them. 10-footers, not so much. I've seen some pretty incredible deals on longer 'toons.

Only if it is over 10'. An over 10'er is $5. for anyone without a motor. For an over 10'er it is $10. for local and $20. for out of staters to have a motor of any kind (keep in mind there are small boats as well as pontoons.

IF! you have a 9'er and a motor....NO STICKER according to this messed up law. The key word here is OVER 10 FOOT.
