Thanks, I was hoping somebody got some enjoyment out of that. Unfortunately, access to fishing holes took a turn for the worst last year. We lost the entire other side of the Little Salmon including one super popular hole, plus the two campsites that held nearly 60%ish of the campers. So
ly, crowding has gotten even worse. Most people are curteous though as long as you don't hop on "their rock". As far as old Flypole goes, I hope I didn't give you the wrong idea, that was the only dude I have ever seen even trying it with a flypole in Riggins. I don't flyfish (not that I'm against it, I have a Fenwick 7 wt but I just never learned to use it), but I would say that Riggins isn't flyfishing water at all. Nevertheless, I hope you find a magical spot like Flypole had where it can actually work and get one of them that way.
In case I beat around the bush too much answering your question: There used to be places like that , that you could hike to on the other side of the river and get away from the crowd, but not really anymore. However, goofy spots that a flypole might work might potentially be places that don't get fished by the drifters
