I use 2 different rods for Chinook in Idaho. They are both ST. Croix Wild River Series. One is a 1 piece 8' Extra Heavy that I use in normal to high water, it is as good of salmon rod as you can ask for in Riggins. The other is a 8'6" 2 piece Heavy, I use it in low water conditions, or if I need a little extra reach.
30 pound Stren or Maxima should treat you right. [signature] |
