Well I left in 97 and they were still using them...I guess that was a while ago. I'm not sure if they are still using them now. I didn't know they banned them. Man what a lazy, but ingenious way to collect fish though. As a resident we were able to dip net salmon which sounds easy but it was a HECK of alot of hard work. We were limited strickly on how many we could keep. I believe it was 27 reds per family per yr and not exactly sure the yrly limit on kings (I think 15-20 yrly) but no more than 4 per day. The native Americans had limits in the hundreds and used fish wheels.
