I catch a lot of bass in the size range you describe, but I also get the occasional 2 pounder and my buddy caught one that went 3# last spring. I have heard stories of the 5-8# bass from there, but have yet to see any physical or photographic evidence of it. If anyone has some I'd love to see it.
