The more vertical the better. If my bouncers get any further back than a 45 degree angle while trolling I add more weight. A good rule of thumb for bouncing is 1 oz. of weight for every 10 foot of water depth to keep the bouncer more vertical..
I have used bouncers at under .5 MPH. The secret there is to use a float on your crawler harness or pump a little air into the crawler.
If your going to fish super slow I don't use spinner blades on my harness. A Smiley blade or Spin & Glow will keep your bait off the bottom and still be an effective attractent.
On some return trips from out of state I've brought live leachs home. I can't get a Utah walleye to eat a live leach [crazy] Never tried the Berkly imitations leaches
