Got out to tonight after work. Water temp was anywhere from 56.7 to 57.2, it has cooled off a bit since the weekend. Tried to fish some points on the main river channel, but that was not happening with my boat. Wind must have been 20+ mph and pushing up stream. there were some real rollers out there. Moved to a cove out of the wind and found a few fish. Set the hook in one and broke the line instantly. Not sure what happened. I had stop for a second to talk to Mendy and my rod just started jerking like crazy, think I got a little too excited and set the $#%& out of it. Tied another one on and handed it to Mendy. Several minutes later shes reeling in a 2 1/2 lbr. Just over 15" but very very fat, had marks on the bottom of the tail where it must have been sweeping. Then I hook into a real nice fish, fought like a beast, looked like a 2-3 when it came out and spit my trap at me. but it fought like a 4-5.It was fighting so good I thought I had foul hooked it. All those fish hooked or caught in shallow water in about 30 minutes. TRied a few more spots, but either windy or not really where I thought the fish were so I did not try too much, just a few cast here and there. Left at dark. Saw some guys taking some nice looking attractors out, going from Tyner to who knows where. Anyone on here? This was a group project. They had maybe two boats, could not tell if the first boat had them on it or not, and a trailer toting them to the ramp. I truly believe the wind picks up when I go to the water. What I learned today is where to not fish on Friday night. Gonna hunt some more spots out tomorrow night if all goes as planned. Glad Mendy could get a fish, was hoping she could get a PB, but that will come Sunday. No pictures, camera is broken, getting ready to take it apart and see whats wrong. Yeah the camera phone is just a bad photo. Had I got onto a 5or 6 the phone would have come out!
