Hunt/Fish trip???
#14
I grew up in WI. Your comparisons to trophy lakes for Walleye and ESOX here are not very acurate. True trophy waters for ESOX dont exist in this state in my opinion where in my opinion a lot of trophy water exists here for trout. That is why I commented. I don't fish for trout unless I am camping around water where that is the only fish available. What a person from UT considers a trophy lake for ESOX or Walleye isn't the same thing as a guy from the mid west considers a trophy lake. We don't have any true Musky water here. Just Pineview and a couple others which have tiger musky in it until they die off and we'll see what the DNR comes up with. I can also bet that not many people will reel in 50-150 plus N. Pike days like you can back in WI. I've litterally caught so many N. Pike in WI that I had almost total muscle loss in my pole hand, reeling in while hanging onto the reel so the pole doesn't go flying out of it. That feeling I'm pretty confident will never happen in UT with any species of fish. Truly though, if I were going for ESOX I'd go to Canada (highly recommended trip but will cost more then 500) and catch fish, not fish for fish. If I would have known you were only interested in catching Brown trout I wouldn't have commented at all as I have never fished for them. Who knows maybe one day I'll fish for Browns. My brother lives in the burbs of Milwaukee. I never saw me going after lake trout until I got on this board. Now I'm going to give it a go with Bigfishwanted one day. Good luck on what ever you do.
