Alright, it is a done deal. Idaho residents now pay $5. for no motor and $10. for motor on boats 10' and over. Out of staters double.
Man this thing was really thought through wasn't it. How embarrassing!
First off, why is a 10' boat more of a threat than a float tube...seriously!!! Secondly, what about the felt soles on the boots...there are allot of fishermen/women that don't use a boat, but river fish.
Third: Most pontoons use ELECTRIC motors not gas, big difference.
I get the part about charging out of staters more, but really, this just screams give me your money because it is NOT effective way to control this and I really want to see proof of where this money is going.
It would make far more sense to tack $1. more to ALL licenses.
This is a growing concern for all bodies of water, so why is the wisdom of Idaho ONLY worried about boats over 10 feet. Like I said, not a whole lot of research behind that bill.
