Dubob made this post with plans for home made planer boards a year or so ago. I built the larger boards to plan specs this winter. I haven't fished them extensively yet, but I did throw them out of the boat and run a line behind them on UL a few weeks ago and the tracked AWSOME. I'm pumped with how they looked in the water. I made them with threaded rod and nylock nuts and don't plan to break them down, but if you used lock washers and carried a 7/16" wrench with you you could break them both down in a matter of minutes. Dubob was dead on with his estimation of cost. I picked up all of my material for just uner $40. The biggest issue I had in making the board was the double bevel cut, but once you figure out how to make both angle cuts you are in business.
